Young Loreto CS Milford entrepreneurs Andrea Logue and Bronach Gallagher have qualified for the All Ireland Final of the Junior Dragons Den.
A shortlist of over 60 ideas from talented young students aged between 12 – 18 years attended the All- Ireland Junior Dragons Den final sponsored by Bank of Ireland on Saturday 29th January.
After the event, 20 students were shortlisted by the panel to go forward to pitch their ideas to the Dragons. The names of the successful candidates will be revealed when the Junior Dragons’ Den episodes air in May.
The three judges, John Keegan, Director of Distribution Channels Bank of Ireland, Peaches Kemp, Director of Itsa limited and Jenny Finnegan, Producer of Junior Dragons’ Den all agreed that the standard of the competition was very high. Those selected to go into the Den will pitch for the chance to win a €2,000 bursary, which will support them in bringing their business to the next stage.
Students from Loreto Community School, St. Columba’s College, Stranorlar and Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair represented County Donegal in the Final.
Commenting on the Junior Dragons’ Den, John Keegan, Director Distributions Channels, Bank of Ireland said “ These students are the next generation of business people in Ireland and we want to play a role in fostering their talents. We were delighted with the number of applications received and the enthusiasm shown by our young entrepreneurs of the future”.
