Singing can be heard throughout the hallways of Loreto Community School, Milford once again as their latest musical production, “Back to the 80s”, fast approaches. Students and staff alike will be breaking out their best leg warmers, parachute pants and neon skirts as they take to the stage from next Tuesday, October 15.
Rehearsals are in full swing and students are busy practising their dance moves and lines.“Back to the 80s” tells the story of the 1989 graduating class of a typical American high school, as seen through the eyes of the narrator, Corey Palmer, now living in the year 2001. Throughout the musical, Corey introduces us to the many cheerleaders, football players, nerds and teachers at WilliamOceanHigh School.
This time around, the school will be taking its performance back home – right to its very own school gym.
Performances run from Tuesday, October 15 until Saturday, October 19 and tickets, priced at €10, are available from the school. With songs and dances that everyone will want to join in with (and guaranteed to stir some nostalgia in the slightly older generations), “Back to the 80s” is a show not to be missed.
